Take a look inside one of Massachusetts’ first recreational marijuana shops

The Massachusetts marijuana industry is about to get its first recreational shop, and the opening could be just days away.

Cultivate Holdings in Leicester, which operates as a medical marijuana dispensary, will likely be one of the first to begin selling recreational marijuana.

The company is one of the first two retail stores that has been awarded a final license from the state. The other medical marijuana dispensary expected to open for recreational sales is New England Treatment Access in Northampton.

Now that the state Cannabis Control Commission has issued “commence full operations” notices to two licensed cannabis testing laboratories, store owners are waiting for the commission to issue the same notice to them.
