Hippo Premium Packaging and Duallok Win Prestigious Global Packaging Award

Hippo Premium Packaging (hippopackaging.com), a leader in customized packaging and branding solutions for the legal cannabis industry, announces that together with Duallok it has won a 2019 PAC Global Leadership Award.

The Duallok package won in the “Packaging Innovation/Technical Innovation” category. It was the only award given to a packaging solution for a legal cannabis product.

The patented Duallok child-resistant (CR) solution developed by the Duallok design team in London, UK and launched in late 2018, was utilized by Hippo for their client, Theory Wellness.

Hippo Premium Packaging and Duallok Win Prestigious Global Packaging Award

The PAC Global Leadership Awards identifies the best packaging designs and innovations of the year. Winners were announced at the ONEOF100 Summit in New York, on February 26, 2019.

66 judges from 12 nations evaluated packaging designs from around the world to determine the winners.

Hippo worked closely with the structural engineers at Duallok to develop an internal fitment to house the Theory Wellness vape cartridge and maximize the brand continuity - from the exterior of the package to the product reveal.

Duallok’s unique double-lock mechanism is certified under the 16 CFR 1700 guidelines for child resistance. The packaging generates customer interest and builds brand loyalty, while keeping children safe and companies compliant.

The final design for the award-winning packaging was the result of work across two continents.

“Our team worked on this design here in the United States along with the Burgopak engineers in Great Britain,” said Kary Radestock, CEO and Co-Founder of Hippo Premium Packaging. “Together, we developed a highly innovative solution that exceeded our client’s expectations.”

The finalists for the awards included some of the largest companies in the world, including: Proctor & Gamble, Hershey’s, Kellogg’s, ConAgra, Unilever, Pfizer, Georgia-Pacific, Pizza Hut, Heineken, and Starbucks.

“We are thrilled that our work in the regulated cannabis industry is being globally recognized, especially in competition against such corporate titans,” Radestock added.
